General FAQs

Yes – you must be a Journeyperson Electrician to apply for EVITP. The governing body NETCO does require a Certificate of Qualification (COQ) to write your exam at the end of the program.

The EVITP program is funded in part by Government of Canada’s Union Training and Innovation Program to support the Clean Energy B.C. Green Initiative. If you are a BC resident and journeyperson Electrician with a COQ, you are eligible to receive 50% (before GST) of the course cost back when you successfully pass the EVITP Exa

If you currently hold an FSR and need to renew, the Code Refresher course will provide you with the 8 hours required by Technical Safety BC for renewal. We are the training provider, so unfortunately, any specific renewal questions must be directed directly to Technical Safety BC.

If you are wanting to write your FSR exam through Technical Safety BC, our 50 hour Electrical Code course is recognized by Technical Safety BC as a prerequisite. Please direct any specific questions about the exam, or exam scheduling process to Technical Safety BC.

Unfortunately, if we do not have enough participants to meet the minimum requirement to run the course, we will have to cancel, reschedule and try again a future session.

We strive to run courses at least 3 times per year: Winter, Spring and Fall. As soon as we have updated courses dates, we update our website to reflect the new dates.
