Province Sponsors EVITP Program

January 21, 2016, the Province of BC, Ministry of Energy and Mines,
announced funding to support for the Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP).  Under an agreement with E2 Inc., valued at up to $50,000, the province will provide a 50% training cost subsidy to participants in the program.

As the use of electric vehicles for private and commercial applications achieves broader acceptance, the need to develop and expand the infrastructure to support this growth becomes increasingly evident.

The EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) was designed to address the need for installation and maintenance of the EV charging infrastructure in the safest and most cost effective manner.

The course was developed through a voluntary collaboration of electrical industry organizations, which include but are not limited to General Motors, BMW, Pacific Gas and Electric, the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), and the University of California-Davis.

We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia.   https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2016MEM0001-000061
